We designed more than hundred book covers for the Greenwood Publishing Company and its imprints Praeger and Libraries Unlimited over the course of a particularly busy and fruitful relationship with their company. The books covered a broad spectrum of subjects, from history and military history to science, self help, the environment, and the arts. Many of the titles were parts or series that we either designed or followed existing templates on. In all cases, we designed the covers or jackets and carried the production from receipt of project outlines through to delivery of print-ready PDF files. Greenwood’s Art Director and production departments were focused and organized, allowing us to work in a highly productive way.
As with the vast majority of the projects we work on we did the image research and selection for our projects. We were fortunate that Greenwood had a budget that enabled them to purchase rights-managed photos from such stock agencies as Corbis and Getty, resulting in much more effective designs than is typically possible with royalty-free images.
